Growing up, I cannot recall a fall season when my mom did not buy crates of Bartlett pears and apples to make our family recipe of pear and apple marmalade. This is a tradition that I have carried to this day. This was one of the pears that I came across while preparing the marmalade, and it was the most beautiful pear I have ever seen. On closer inspection, I noticed a discreet little pattern of a heart on the skin of this pear.
