Growing up in Central Oregon, I saw many magpies swooping around fields. I have always loved the way their white, black, and blue coloring stood out against their surroundings. This painting also contains a few of my favorite features of Central Oregon, the Cascade Mountains, Ponderosa pine trees, and the Deschutes River. 
 
This painting is currently in a gray wood frame, behind glass, with double matting.
